Screams!

The screams echoed through the neighborhood. Silence followed.
Those who lived nearby turned back to their work again as if nothing had happened.
This time, when the screams rung forth, they didn't even bother to look up. Their thoughts were "Kids!"
All was quiet this time, for almost half an hour before playful laughter and screams echoed around the neighborhood again.
It was just a usual day. The young kids from the house next door, behind them and beside them, were at play again. A bunch of girls at play.
They knew the routine, it started off with screams, then giggling and more screams followed by tears.
But today was different. Today there were no tears, just that laughter, which now seemed less friendly then before.
Thoughts permeated their brains as to what might be happening there. Was everything alright?
As if they were all moved by one force, they slowly rose from before the TV and crept towards the fence. Fingers curled over the top and slowly were accompanied by peeking eyes.
All they saw were the other pairs of eyes, staring back at them, the other neighbor's.
Once they got over their initial fright the looked over, in search of that maniacal laughing.
In the middle of the patio stood a cage. Inside that cage was a bird, laughing.
When the bird saw the eyes it screamed, then giggled, mimicking it's younger owners.
The mystery was solved so they all went back to their comfortable couches and ignored the noises from that house.

Great Grandma Miller

This is my tribute to a great lady who just passed away this Tuesday just passed. She lived a long and exciting life, dying at the ripe old age of 92. I am not sure why they call it ripe but I know she certainly wasn't over ripe. She will be missed by all.

Bubs

I finally did it. I finally had a chance to look through the books properly. It was then that I realized two are beyond my understanding as they were made for those who actually study art. It was either that or my frame of mind was not in the right place to look at them. The other book was good, I think I shall extend it's time from the library so I can do the activities it suggests. It has a heap of progressive activities which I shall aim to take advantage of.
All that aside, I took my child free time to draw my youngest. Admittedly it is not the best but I am still happy with the result that I achieved in the small amount of time I had available to me.
She looks like a mad professor with the hair, and wouldn't stay still despite being asleep.
Here she is, my bouncing baby girl, well sleeping baby girl.

Library Books Update

Why did I get those books out? I have had a brief look at them but not been able to practice the techniques in the book due to my busy life of being a homeschooling mum who also works at home. My time on the computer is usually spent reading blogs, doing work and responding emails, while I feed the baby. I still have another week in which to try to use those books. Fingers crossed that I will get a chance.

Thanks to G-Manink for giving me ideas and posting comments. I still think he has an awesome eye for photography as well as a good hand for drawing.
