Short Bios From Ukraine

Dan writes for Jono
"I must write! I am delighted at the testimony of the young people who are fellowshipping with us and at the way the Lord is using them to glorify Himself in this place!"

Kolya is devouring the Word of God. Each week, he amazes me with his insights.

His brother, Alyosha, a soccer fan, is also reading and growing in the Lord.

Natasha, a two-year-old Christian, has been meeting with children each week for over two months. I plan for her to soon be running the weekly kids club we will be holding. She loves the Lord and is a faithful witness.

Sveta is a gentle 19 year-old servant who loves Jesus with all her heart and will be a "wise woman".

Tanya is passionate about everything, including her relationship with Jesus. She's a dancer in the local dance group.

Valera has seen God do dramatic things in his life over the past two weeks. A month ago, he looked like what he was - on the verge of becoming an alcoholic. His whole appearance has changed and he's serving in the kid's club. He still needs a lot of prayer in this area. He just told me he wanted to be baptised. Funnily enough, Natasha, asked 15 minutes later and then Tanya joined in. Valera is the chess master!

Tamara is reading her Bible avidly, thinking about it and marking special verses. She, along with 10 or so others, will also be helping with the kids club we hold on Wednesdays. She keeps on inviting her friends and neighbours to church.

Luda is volatile... in a good way. She is faithful and a joy to have around.

Her younger sister Nadia has just graduated from school and is attending the two main gatherings we hold each week.

Alyosha has just got a job as a cook for parliament deputies. He keeps in touch but I suspect is struggling with being the only Christian in an un-Christian atmosphere.

This young Alyosha keeps coming back. He prayed with us for forgiveness a few months back and I've seen growth in him.

Christina loves the church and feels like we are a pure place away from the grime of the sewing factory in which she works. She wants to be a part of the next discipleship course we run.

Larissa is a refined young lady who somehow began meeting with us. I haven't talked with her in depth, but she's attracted by the lack of fake religiosity and real love she senses.

Marsha is another gem. I just found out she is 15. (Thought she was 19.) She loves the Lord with all her heart and enjoys worshipping Him.
